Children and Youth

Children and young people are very important to us. Our Kids and Youth Workers work hard to ensure they develop in a happy, safe and secure environment. We provide supervised age appropriate children’s activities every Sunday including Mini Messy Church once a month.

Safeguarding

Child Protection and Safety receives the highest priority at King's Church. We endeavour as far as possible to keep every child in our care safe from harm.

We follow the Baptist Union's 'Safe To Grow' guidelines and have an agreed child protection policy reviewed annually. Our children's and young people's workers and volunteers are DBS checked and we have a Designated Person available to the children and their parents/carers.

KCQ Kids

Alongside our Sunday services at 10:30 am, we provide a supervised teaching programme every Sunday morning for children from 3 years upwards, with creche toys available for younger ones with their parents/carers.

Our aim is to provide a structured, nurturing environment for children to learn about God through Bible verses, games, crafts, and stories. Interactive themes and fun creative activities ensure this is done in an enjoyable way.

Once a month, on Sunday morning from 10:30 to 11:45 am, Mini Messy Church is introduced by our KCQ puppets. A specific theme or Bible story is followed with a story and an extensive craft itinerary.

Messy Church

This is held once a term on a Saturday afternoon 3-5pm. We welcome families with children of all ages to join us to CHILL, CREATE, CELEBRATE, & CHEW around a bible theme, with crafts, stories, songs, games, sports activities and a light meal together.

Messy Tots

Our Stay and Play group meets on Thursday afternoons in term time 1.30-3pm. There’s always a warm welcome for parents and carers with babies and pre-schoolers. We provide toys, snacks, a short bible story, nursery songs and an opportunity to play and socialise in a safe and friendly environment.

Hub Youth Club

Youth club runs on the 4th Friday of each month 7-8.30pm and is for youngsters from school years 7 upwards, subject to parental permission. Admission is free and includes games, crafts, sports, snacks, videos and music.
